Dr. Karra to the Rescue

Om boken

Experience the rewarding life of a wildlife veterinarian, with true details about five different injured animals.

An opossum was attacked by a dog. A young owl swallowed a bit of lead. A turtle was hit by a car. These situations—and others just like it—are animal emergencies! Fortunately, there’s someone who can help: a wildlife veterinarian. Meet Doctor Karra from the Wildlife Center of Virginia (WCV) and follow her through an action-packed day.

Written by acclaimed author Christy Gove, Dr. Karra to the Rescue is a children’s book that reads like a medical drama—except all the patients are wild animals. Join Doctor Karra and her team as they treat five different critters. Every account is based on a true story of an actual patient at the animal hospital. In fact, most of the photographs in this book were provided by the WCV.

If your child loves animals, dreams of becoming a veterinarian, or enjoys real-life stories, this picture book is both entertaining and educational. It introduces facts about five different animals and spotlights the career of a wildlife veterinarian. Dr. Karra to the Rescue promotes empathy, while instilling an appreciation of wildlife and nature.
