Foster's Irish Oddities

Om boken

This addictive, fascinating and humorous book is an indispensable collection of Irish trivia, history and uncommon knowledge. Presented in short, digestible entries and engagingly written throughout, this revised edition contains much of the original classic with additional content selected from Foster’s Even Odder Irish Oddities, making this the most comprehensive edition to date.

Meet the first and only person to attempt to steal the Crown Jewels, and marvel at Paddy the pigeon, the first bird to fly back with news of the D-Day landings. From the Church of Ireland bishop who was devoted to God by day and robbed people as a highwayman by night to the County Waterford farmer who never wore anything other than white linen, this book is a veritable feast of facts and figures.
