A sumptuous and colorful photographic journey through the multihued imagination of Douglas Friedman, presenting a kaleidoscope of fashion, interiors, and celebrity portraits
As wide-ranging as Douglas Friedman’s photographic subjects are—interiors, architecture, travel, fashion, and portraits—what unites them is his infallible eye. His images are exquisitely composed, tactile, full of dynamism, beautifully lit, infused with humor, and drenched in color. To showcase all these qualities for maximum impact, Full Spectrum is organized prismatically, from chrome yellow to charcoal black. The effect is kaleidoscopic, verging on hallucinogenic, and represents the Full Spectrum of his inimitable work. He is particularly renowned for his photos of celebrities from the worlds of fashion, stage and screen, the arts, sports, and politics. The stars featured in the book include Diane von Furstenberg, Carolina Herrera, Donna Karan, Vera Wang, Giorgio Armani, Iman, RuPaul, Patti Lupone, Liev Schreiber, John Waters, Snoop Dogg, Martha Stewart, Jeff Koons, James Turell, Serena Williams, Hillary Clinton, several Kardashians, and Laura Bush. Martha Stewart has contributed the foreword to this photographic tour de force.
