Kids can learn how to make a bug hotel and get inspired to help protect our crucial insect wildlife with this gorgeous picture book. Harry Hail is joined by friends Sammy Sun, Rosie Rainbow, Flo Snow, Ronny Rain, and Willy Wind, in a tale of cooperation and positive action to encourage biodiversity. When the Pollutants show up to see what the gang are up to, will they help or hinder their efforts? Harry Hail's Bug Hotel is the seventh in the Weatherbies story book series that feature lovable weather characters who make it easy for young children to remember key concepts about the world around us and the need to take good care of our planet. The story models pro-social behaviours and skills such as working together, creative problem-solving and taking care of wildlife.
This book is also available in Irish as Conn Cloichshneachta agus Teach Osta Do Na Feithidi. Choose one book or get the pair for parallel learning or shared reading in mixed-language groups.

Entertainment and education for young children
Written by Yvonne Fleming and illustrated by James Salenga, the colourful picture books in the Weatherbies series are perfect for introducing eco topics and other concepts to children at Early Years Foundation Stage. The Weatherbies are a lovable community of friends who live, learn and play in the wonderful world of Skytown. Through their interactions with the world around them, each other, and the pesky Pollutants, the Weatherbies gang teach pro-social behaviours and values such as co-operation and responsibility.
Language, music and learning
The book series is also available in Irish, and can be used as parallel texts, for children reading them side by side, or for non-Irish-speaking parents to read along with children learning Irish.
Learning is easier when music is involved! Kids can sing along with accompanying songs, The Harry Hail Song and Little Honey Bees, on streaming platforms. Sing a Song with the Weatherbies, featuring Tony Kearney, introduces the Weatherbies gang to little music lovers, and Eco Tunes by the Weatherbies, featuring Clare Galway, has a whole host of new eco-topical songs such as Put It In the Bin, Replacing Power the Natural Way, The Water Cycle Song and many more.
Deepen the learning from the book with the Pollination episode of the companion series Fun Topics with the Weatherbies.
