Imagine a future that is wild, weird, and uniquely you: that is your Rich Old Lady. With this easy investing and wealth-building guide, you’ll make a plan to greet your Rich Old Lady with confidence, security, and genuine hope for tomorrow.
Maybe she’s wearing belly chains at the beach, tanned and wrinkly and totally unbothered. Maybe she’s befriending the birds at her cozy forest cabin. Maybe she’s on the streets, fighting for a better world. Whatever the vision, she is going to need money to make it real.
Amanda Holden spent years working in investment management, where she saw exactly who gets access to the power, ease, and opportunity money can bring—and it wasn’t people like her friends. (And probably not you, either.) She also witnessed how the financial system is designed to feel exclusive, confusing, and conveniently overwhelming, and how it blames individuals for economic problems they didn’t create. So she left her finance job to launch Invested Development, a financial education company that teaches women and young people how to invest with radical clarity, accessibility, and joy.
Over 25,000 students have taken Amanda’s courses, transforming not just their dreams of art-filled apartments and silk caftans, but the way they feel about money
right now. Here, all her expertise and insights are packed into a guide that’s as entertaining as it is informative. In these pages, Amanda will:
- Show you how to build financial security in a world not designed for you
- Demystify retirement accounts and tax rules
- Explain investing theory in a way that is truly unforgettable
- Reveal who to trust in the finance world—and who to avoid
- Walk you through researching, buying, and tracking the right investments for you
- Help you build an automated strategy—so you can move on with your life
- Provide lessons on living a beautiful life beyond Roth IRAs and index funds
But
How to Be a Rich Old Lady won’t feel like reading your worst uncle’s investing book, and it won’t be like getting cornered by the crypto bro in your life. Instead, Amanda’s advice will feel like getting a text from your smartest but slightly unhinged friend that reads, “Let’s figure out money, so we can stop thinking about money.”
Filled with humor, heart, and real-world perspective,
How to Be a Rich Old Lady offers a life-changing roadmap to the financial freedom we all deserve.
