Literally

Om boken

Are you autistic, think you might be, or love someone who is? Do you feel like everyone else was handed an instruction manual for life and you missed out?

Literally is your joyful, realistic and relatable guide to being autistic.

Illustrator and content creator Ella Willis was 22 when they were formally diagnosed with autism, but this was no surprise. Growing up they felt like they’d surely been dropped on earth by aliens and would eventually be rescued. Social blunders, overstimulation, intense joyful special interests: with the label of autism, these experiences made so much more sense.

In Literally, Ella is here to help you navigate all parts of being autistic, destigmatize neurodivergence and offer clear, practical and hopeful advice. You’ll discover:

The process of getting diagnosed and how to understand the diagnosis (professional or self)
Explanations of common autistic everyday experiences, including masking, relationships, routine, stimming, sensory issues, special interests and more
How to navigate the ups and downs of being autistic, as Ella shares personal anecdotes, research, illustrations and interviews
The absolute magic of autistic joy

A clear-eyed, funny and accessible view of the autistic experience, this is Literally the book to help you – or your loved ones – thrive.
