The New York Times bestselling “Sisters of Suspense” thrill readers with this page-turning standalone, as the wedding of one woman’s dreams turns into a waking nightmare—and five years later, a killer bent on exacting vengeance is closer than she realizes…
In the space of minutes, Rory Abernathy’s wedding to Liam Bastian turns into a bloodbath. Confronted by a masked intruder in her hotel room, Rory stabs her assailant and flees, just before a gunman opens fire on the waiting wedding party. Her stepbrother is killed. Every member of Liam’s family is injured.
Five years later Rory still has no idea who was behind the attacks, or what their motive was. Convinced that she and her young daughter, Charlotte, may still be targets, she’s made a new life under an assumed name, far from Liam and the wealthy, powerful Bastians. But even in the remote town of Point Roberts, Washington, Rory can’t hide.
When Liam tracks Rory down, he is stunned to learn they have a daughter together, and determined to unearth the truth about that terrible day. His mother has always insisted that someone in Rory’s family tried to kill him to inherit his portion of the Bastian estate. Rory doesn’t know if any of her remaining family was involved. But she’s convinced that lately, someone has been watching her.
Time has passed, but the killer’s need for vengeance hasn’t. Now that Rory has been found, the ugly family secrets that spawned a nightmare will come to light, and this time, there will be nowhere for her to run . . .
