Stamping on Wood

Om boken

Discover the joy of stamped patterns in wood: everything you need to know about materials, tools, and techniques.

Want to create decorative wooden keepsakes without breaking a sweat? Expert designer Katja Falkenburger shows you everything you need to know about stamping wood by hand. The only tools you need are chisels, stamps, and a mallet.

Wood stamping is exciting because, unlike metal or paper, wood does not offer a uniform background; the natural design elements found in wood, such as grain, color gradients, cracks, or annual rings, can be incorporated into your stamped-wood creations. This book focuses on stamping techniques that will inspire you to make your own stamped creations that bring out the inherent beauty of the wood.

The book covers

stamping tools;
types of wood and how well they stamp;
10+ stamping techniques, including vertical, angled, cut, and press stamping;
using templates and outlines for your designs;
how the texture, grain, and color of your wood influences your designs; and
finishing treatments and techniques.

By following the techniques outlined in this comprehensive volume, you’ll be able to create your own stamped-wood craft and enhance the beauty of any wooden object!
