Technique Takes Off! Viola

Om boken

Technique Takes Off! Viola presents fourteen original, imaginative studies for solo viola, specially written with the timbre and register of the instrument in mind and designed to lead on from elementary studies for younger players to those of Mazas and Kreutzer. Each piece concentrates on one or two aspects of technique, and the whole set covers a wide range of left and right hand skills, including spiccato bowing, string-crossing, moto perpetuo, cantabile, and easy double stops.

Teachers and pupils will find this invaluable, yet light hearted, collection both enjoyable and stimulating.

"I have been meaning to write to say how much pleasure Technique Takes Off has given me and my students. Beautifully conceived, imaginative and great fun to teach. I have been using it at higher levels with more detail too. All power to your elbow!"

William Bruce (Head of Strings and ABRSM examiner)
