Om boken

Discover a decade when British culture exploded with a charged and contagious confidence. Following a period of recession and unrest, the 1990s saw a new dawn of optimism, freedom and rebellion was ushered in, led by a radical generation of diverse creative talent who dismantled hierarchies across creative forms.

Edited by fashion industry game changer, Edward Enninful, this book captures the raw electricity of a changing British psyche at the intersection of art and fashion. It brings together a riotous mix of photography, painting, installation and couture from groundbreaking artists, photographers and designers including Alexander McQueen, Corrine Day, Damien Hirst, Sarah Lucas, Vivienne Westwood, Chris Ofili, David Sims, Tracey Emin and Jurgen Teller. Through first-hand reflections from a chorus of iconic and trailblazing figures such as Steve McQueen, Yinka Shonibare, Normski, Gillian Wearing, Wolfgang Tillmans, Jarvis Cocker, Sonia Boyce and Stella McCartney, it explores how these visionaries designed – and defined – the decade.
