The Book of Names

Om boken

The final, and most compelling book in the award-winning Don't Doubt the Rainbow quartet, delivers a gripping mystery while bringing teen detective Edie Marble's journey full circle. As in previous books, multiple mysteries unfold, but the stakes are higher than ever for our heroine.

The two stories unfolding in parallel are set in modern-day Britain and in the shadow of the Second World War - creating a thrilling adventure that traverses time.

At the height of her fame, Edie receives the George Cross for bravery and finds herself drawn into a mystery that connects to her own family and her late mother's final case.  What begins as an investigation into lost art soon becomes Edie's most profound case yet, leading her from Amsterdam to Auschwitz, and into the heart of a deeply personal crime against humanity.

Meanwhile, in 1940s Poland, thirteen-year-old Ida, Edie's great aunt, navigates the unimaginable as the Nazis seize control of her hometown, Zyrardow.

Decades apart but bound by blood, Edie and Ida's stories intertwine in a powerful search for justice and truth. But for Edie, exposing this horrendous crime forces her to confront danger of the highest order that threatens not only her own safety, but the safety of those she loves.

Through Edie's adventures and challenges, she has learned to understand and harness her innate wellbeing. In this final instalment of the series, that wisdom becomes the blueprint she carries forward - helping her face life's challenges with clarity and trust in her own resilience.
