December 1944. Royal maid Rosa Edwards is finally settled in her role at Buckingham Palace, working for the King and Queen as they lead the country through the war.

But when her new sweetheart Jerry has a devastating accident her world is suddenly turned upside down. And when a mysterious young lady visits Jerry in hospital, she is no longer sure she can trust him.

Meanwhile, the new couple that Rosa has befriended against Jerry’s wishes seem eager for a role at the palace to fulfil their patriotic duty. But could something more sinister be afoot?
