Om boken

Discover the inspiring story of Tim Peake, the first British astronaut to visit the International Space Station and walk in space.

Little Tim grew up with a love of adventure. When he was a teenager, he piloted a plane for the first time, and discovered he was a natural. He joined the British Army, and by training hard, he became a brilliant pilot. One day, he saw the European Space Agency (ESA) was looking for astronauts. Tim was chosen from thousands of applicants, and in 2015 he blasted off into space, becoming the first British astronaut to visit the International Space Station.

This picture book introduces children to Tim’s incredible career, showing how a boy who looked to the stars grew up to become a helicopter pilot, flight instructor, hotshot test pilot, and space hero. His involvement in many education programmes since has encouraged children to learn more about space and science.

By following his passion, Tim has flown higher than he could ever have dreamed, inspiring the next generation of scientists and explorers to reach for the stars.

This exciting book also features dynamic illustrations and extra facts at the back, including a biographical timeline with historical photos and a detailed profile of the astronaut’s life.

Little People, BIG DREAMS is a bestselling biography series for kids that explores the lives of outstanding people, from designers and artists to scientists and activists. All of them achieved incredible things, yet each began life as a child with a dream.
