Yan Vol.2 – Chang Sheng | Storytel Books

Om boken

Nominated for two Eisner Awards, the Yan series continues with even more destructive battles and heart-wrenching moments.

From the award-winning writer of Oldmen and The Hidden Level, Chang Shang, comes a Sci-Fi thriller like no other.

The chaos continues in the Eisner-nominated series with Yan Volume 2, as award-winning writer and artist Chang Shang delivers a second thrilling sequel in the unnerving and gripping series that has earned two Eisner nominations (Best Writer/Artist and Best U.S. Edition of International Material – Asia).

Tieh-hua’s trail of destruction grows, as she pursues the bloody path of vengeance. However, the more bodies that drop means the more clues for Detective Lei who is hot on her heels.

Chang Sheng once again toys with existential questions by throwing the detective even deeper into the world of the supernatural. While tracing the steps of Tieh-hua, who has returned from the dead, he also delves into the past to solve the crimes that set off these extraordinary events.

Now that Tieh-hua has got to grips with her reincarnation and the world of the living, she has become increasingly powerful and formed strong bonds with the likes of her companion Higa Mirai. The chess prodigy has also been able to hone her power of precognition alongside her fearsome ally.

For fans of Chang Shang’s acclaimed works like Oldman and The Hidden Level, Yan Volume 2 showcases the talented creator’s versatility, as he blends Sci-Fi with a traditional horror story. This is also one for the collectors, as the wonderful illustrations within this book, larger than most manga, are adorned by a striking cover and stunning French flaps.

As readers are once again consumed by the carnage of Yan, this second volume ventures further into the small space that sits between reality and the supernatural. Where readers and characters are forced to understand whether revenge can quench one’s bloodthirst, and whether the other-worldly can be held accountable to the rules of our world.
